Employee Spotlight - Jeff Teller

Jeff Teller

Congratulations Jeff Teller on 30 Years of Service and Upcoming Retirement!

I was born in the state of Washington raised in the Seattle area. My parents worked in the school districts, and I have two brothers and a sister, with me being the youngest. Julie and I found each other in 1982, and I married her and we had Jenifer in 1984. I started a Mac Tool business in 1986 while Julie was working for Keyston at the Seattle branch.

What brought you to Keyston Bros?
In 1989-90 Keyston sent Julie to Phoenix to see why the branch wasn’t making any money. Her observation was that it had bad management and personnel issues. She wanted to try to save it, so I sold my tool business packed up Jennifer and the dogs, and moved to the hottest place on Earth to follow Julie's ambitious dream. I found a job with a pool company designing and selling pools, I did that for a year and watched Julie come home from work frustrated and upset so often, so she talked me into quitting my job and helping her out at Keyston. So there I was working in the warehouse and learning at the counter for $8.00 per hour and said to myself this job will be short lived, little did I know.

What has been your favorite memory from working here?
Being on the road for 27 - 28 years you meet a lot of people and make good friends and those memories will be forever. And spring break in Lake Havasu wasn’t so bad.

What is your favorite product we sell?

What do you do in your free time?
I spend a lot of time in the summer up in the mountains at our cabin riding our Razor
side by side, lots of golf, and fly fishing when I get the chance.

What is one thing you can’t live without?
Friends and family, as I’ve gotten older they all seem so much more important.

What is one thing no one knows about you?
In 1976 - 1977 I played in the Seattle Mariners minor league organization, I played out field
and third base.
